Having a day of family and friends portraits is one of our favourite gifts to offer clients when they have their resort destination wedding. The dreams resort in Punta Cana had this beautiful beach and we loved capturing intimate couples portraits for our bride and groom and their friends and family that had flown their for the wedding week.
We love taking ring shots and adding in some of the details of your wedding jewelry or venue to create a more interesting background.
When it feels like 90 degrees and you've been in your suit all day, please take a moment during the reception to jump in the pool. We loved that they told us what was happening moments before. It gave us the opportunity to set up the lighting and then wait for the magic to happen. We had been waiting for a few destination weddings for someone to be willing to jump in the pool and were so excited when it finally happened.
Would you believe this is just what the walkway to the pool looks like at Azul Fives in Mexico. From our first day there, we knew we were going to shoot this couple walking this path that they did everyday while on vacation.
Introducing the maid of honour from heaven. She was quick to help wherever she was needed and always offered a joke or silly face to the bride. She kept everyone laughing and we absolutely adored hanging out with her around the resort pool and excursions in and around the Dominican.
Their daughter just got out her seat and joined them for the first kiss. This little girl stole our hearts over and over again during our week in Cancun.
We love it when the bride and groom take a moment to freshen up for portraits. Some destination weddings are hot in the sun and planning a few moments to freshen up is essential to great portraits.
We loved how the bride wanted to do a special reveal for her brides maids.
We love working with reflections to get out of the box imagery and convey different tones and moods during the day.
A couple that can really laugh together, stays together. These two laughed their way around the Azul Fives Resort in Maya Riviera the whole time we were taking pictures.
We felt that this was the perfect way to display those shoes while still allowing the essence of a destination wedding to shine through.
They couldn't ask for a more glorious day. Yes it was hot on the beach of Punta Cana. Yes there were people walking around and peeking at the ceremony. That sky, that water, those clouds and that perfect kiss was all worth it.
The Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay has this beautiful spot just around the corner of the ceremony site. You take a small path to get there, but if we stand on the shore while you are over there, you get an image that encapsulates the beauty of being on an island.
We love the brides entrance at a ceremony. The look of excitement on her face as she sees her groom for the first time.
The way the island wind picked up to have her dress cascade in the wind at her entrance was pure perfection.
We admit it. If there are animals at your destination wedding, we will take pictures of them. These cute Flamingos were walking around the resort and we couldn't resist giving them their own mini photoshoot.
We love it when you have us for the whole week at your destination wedding. We get to go out with you to the club, have dinner with you and your guests and really get to know you. Plus we get to create opportunities for impromptu photos that we would never have even thought to plan out. It's the best!

Location scouting and getting a feel for the resort is the first thing we do when we arrive at any destination wedding. Dreams Resort in Punta Cana is absolutely amazing-the food, the flamingos and this gorgeous beach!
We knew we had to capitalize on this beach for the sunset images. We whisked the bride and groom from their wedding reception for a total of ten minutes to create this stunning sunset shot.
